I always told myself I would find a career and then retire and be that old man who spends his days in a wood shop making furniture and other projects. After high school at Hinsdale Central, I thought I was going to be an architect, but I never wanted to fully commit to it because of the schooling required. I thought I would be a sound engineer but that also didn’t play out how I had imagined it. Which led me to realize I’ve always known what I was happiest doing, creating and building functional art and furniture. With a kickstart education from the Chicago School of Woodworking, and a few great mentors to guide me along the way I’ve decided to go for it. And here I am, an eager 24 year old looking to take a swing at a craft and industry that has always has and will continue to intrigue me and bring me happiness.
